A distressing incident unfolded in the Rajpur Sonarpur area when a 5th-grade student was molested while returning home from school. The girl, accompanied by her classmates, was walking on the roadside when a man, riding a bicycle, suddenly stopped and inappropriately touched her before fleeing the scene. The incident took place around 4:00 PM in broad daylight.
Upon learning about the attack, the victim's family immediately set out to track down the accused. They managed to catch him on the road, where they restrained him by tying him to a pole. The family members then beat the accused before informing the police about the incident. The police arrived at the scene soon after, arresting the man and taking him into custody.
The Sonarpur police have begun a thorough investigation into the matter. They are collecting statements from witnesses and the victim’s family as part of their inquiry. The accused remains in custody while the police continue their investigation to ensure that justice is served.
